The consulate general of Bangladesh in New York has introduced a new option for payment of all consular fees via credit card, enhancing service transparency, accountability, and user-friendliness.
The initiative, which commenced on Tuesday, aims to modernise and streamline consular services, according to a press release received in Dhaka on Wednesday.
However, it should be noted that a 3 per cent bank surcharge will be applied to each transaction made through a credit card for any government-determined fees, reports BSS.
Additionally, the existing system for paying fees through money orders will remain in place, providing flexibility for service recipients.
The consulate general has encouraged all service users to take advantage of this new facility for paying government fees conveniently with credit cards.
