A Dhaka court on Wednesday (November 20) placed former Law Minister Anisul Huq on a five-day remand in a murder case filed over the death of garment worker Fazlul Karim during the quota reform movement in Uttara on August 5.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Imran Ahmed passed the order rejecting Anisul’s bail plea.
Earlier in the day, Investigation Officer Md Mahmudur Rahman, an inspector of the Detective Branch of police, produced Anisul before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.
After the hearing, the magistrate placed him on a five-day remand.
On August 13, Anisul Huq was arrested from the Sadarghat area of the capital during an alleged attempt to escape.
Earlier on August 21, the victim's brother Anwar Hossain Aynal filed a murder case with Uttara East Police Station in the capital against 40 individuals.
