Panchagarh, the northernmost region in Bangladesh and known as the "Himalayan Daughter," has seen a drop in temperature. The cold is being felt from evening to dawn.
On Tuesday(Nov 19), the temperature was recorded at 15.6°C at 6:00 am. Yesterday, Monday morning, the temperature was recorded at 16°C.
A visit to various areas shows that although dense fog has not been present for the past two days, the temperature has dropped, increasing the chill factor slightly.
Locals say that the cold is now being felt from evening until morning. As temperatures continue to drop, the intensity of the chill is increasing, prompting people to use blankets and quilts at night.
However, from 10 am until the afternoon, the weather remains relatively warm.
Russell Shah, the acting officer at the Tetulia Weather Observatory in Panchagarh, stated that with the drop in temperature, the cold has set in. Fog is visible in the early morning. At 6:00 am on Tuesday, the temperature was recorded at 15.6°C.
The temperature is expected to continue falling as the days progress, he added.
