The Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs has issued a gazette raising the maximum age limit for entering government service to 32 years, reports Dhaka Tribune.
According to the gazette issued on Monday, a maximum age limit for direct recruitment in government, autonomous, semi-autonomous, statutory government bodies, public non-financial corporations, and self-governing organizations is deemed appropriate and necessary.
As the Parliament remains dissolved, and the president is satisfied that circumstances exist requiring immediate action, the president has promulgated the following ordinance under the powers granted by Article 93(1) of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
On October 24, the government decided to raise the maximum age limit for entering government jobs to 32 years, following multiple protests by job seekers.
