Workers of a readymade garment (RMG) factory blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway demanding overdue wages at Gazipuaa under Gazipur City Corporation on Wednesday morning (November 13).
Police and eyewitnesses said hundreds of workers of Tex Garment factory blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway demanding wages of October.
Agitated workers brought out a procession chanting slogans causing tailbacks on both sides of the highway.
Mosharaff Hossain, assistant superintendent of industrial police in Gazipur, said workers blocked the highway. Police are trying to displace the workers from the highway through discussion.
