A total of 199 Bangladeshis are returning home in two phases from war-torn Lebanon tonight(Tuesday).
At 11 p.m. on Tuesday, they will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport via an Emirates flight from Dubai.
Furthermore, with the help of the International Organization for Migration(IOM), 167 Bangladeshis will return via a chartered flight. These expatriates will be welcomed by foreign secretariat Jashim Uddin and Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Md. Ruhul Amin.
On Sunday, the Bangladesh embassy in Beirut informed that 32 Bangladeshis would arrive in Dhaka after 11 p.m. on Tuesday in the eighth phase of repatriation from Lebanon.
In a statement, Bangladesh embassy in Beirut has informed that due to the ongoing conflict in Lebanon, arrangements have been made to repatriate Bangladeshis who have voluntarily applied to return home and whose passports and other necessary travel documents have been prepared. After the completion of all the procedures, they would be sent back under the embassy's coordination.
