Authorities lifted restrictions on tourism at Sajek Valley of Rangamati, allowing people to visit the site after 45 days.
Rangamati DC Mosharraf Hossain Khan withdrew the travel restrictions from the popular tourist spot at Sajek Union, Baghaichhari Upazila.
Rangamati DC Mohammad Mosharf Hossain Khan told reporters that the hills are calm now. There is no further restriction on travel to Sajek, he said.
At the same time, Khagrachari DC has also withdrawn travel restrictions to reopen the hilly district for tourists from Tuesday.
The concerned authorities have taken various preparations to welcome tourists. Hotels, motels and resorts have been adequately prepared. However, there is no travel booking on the first day of reopening.
However, the administration is vigilant about the safety of the common people, the DC added.
Considering the safety of the tourists, parts of the Chattogram hill tract region were restricted to tourists. As a result, Rangamati and Khagrachhari tourist trips were stopped.
