Bashundhara Group, the country's largest business conglomerate, has distributed Quran Sharif among the students of various educational institutions at Bancharampur Upazila Auditorium in Brahmanbaria on Monday.
Bashundhara Group Advisor and East West Media Group Publisher Moynal Hossain Chowdhury presided over the distribution ceremony while Bashundhara Group Advisor (Press and Media) Md Abu Tayeb, Bancharampur Islamia Sobhania Fazil Madrasa Principal Maulana Ruhul Amin, Bashundhara Foundation DGM Maimun Kabir, Bancharampur Govt College’s Accounting Department Head Md Chan Mia, Bashundhara Shuvosangho Director Zakaria Zaman, Bancharampur Govt S. M. Pilot Model High School Headmaster Mohamamd Atiqur Rahman, Bancharampur Press Club President M A Awal, Bashundhara Foundation Manager Md Mosharraf Hossain, Senior Officer Amir Hossain Anwar, Md Mamun, Md Shahjahan and Md Basir, among others, were present in the programme.
In his speech, Moynal Hossain Chowdhury said, “Today you students are the future of the tomorrow. Everyone hopes that you will be a good human being by studying. You have to learn moral and religious education alongside regular study. Then, you will be an ideal person. Bashundhara Group arranges all activities including establishing schools in remote areas, distributing educational materials, giving educational stipends to poor meritorious students, and arranging mid-day tiffin at various schools. The reason for these activities is so that the nation is fully educated. Anik Hasan, a student of class eight of Bancharampur Islamia Sobhania Fazil Madrasa, said, “I am happy that I got a Quran Sharif. I can understand Bengali's meaning as well. I will pray to Allah for Bashundhara Group and its owners by reciting Quran Sharif.”
Meritorious student Nusrat Jahan Diba of Bancharampur Girls Pilot High School said, “I am very much happy. I have got many prizes in the past. But, I didn't feel so happy earlier. It is the greatest gift of my life. I will pray for this business group.”
Md Tahin Sarkar, a student of Bancharampur Govt S. M. Pilot Model High School, said, “I am very happy to have the Quran Sharif. I used to read the Quran without understanding it for long. Now, I can understand the meaning of surah and verse as it has a Bengali translation. Thanks to the Bashundhara Group.”
A total of 5,320 Quran Sharifs have been distributed among the students of 37 educational institutions. All recipients are eighth graders. Besides, 5 copies of Quran Sharif have been given for preservation in every educational institution. Among these institutions, 25 are high schools, 11 are madrasas and a school and college.
