It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a cyclonic storm by 23 October over the east-central Bay of Bengal.
If it intensifies into a cyclone by Wednesday, it will be named “Dana.”
The BMD forecasted that the well-marked low moved west-northwestward and concentrated into a depression. It is likely to move west-northwesterly direction further and intensify into a cyclonic storm.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 44 km of the depression centre is about 40 kph, rising to 50 kph in gusts or squalls. The sea conditions will be rough near the depression center, according to BMD.
