Police arrested four more accused persons from Hakimpur and Ghoraghat thana areas of Dinajpur for their involvement in killing two students during the anti-discrimination student movement.
Driving raids on Saturday midnight police arrested them, reports BSS.
The arrestees are Hakimpur Upazila Swachasebak League vice-president Afzal Hossain, 40, its Khatta Union organizing secretary Anib Siddique, 30, Ghoraghat Upazila Shramik League leaders Abdul Hannan, 35, and Amzad Hossain, 35.
Hakimpur Thana Police in separate raids arrested Anib from Raibhog Village under Madhabpur Union of Hakimpur Upazila and Afzal from his own house at Mongla Village of the same upazila while Ghoraghat Thana Police arrested two others from the thana area on Saturday midnight.
Confirming their arrest, police said the four will be produced before Dinajpur Senior Judicial Magistrate Court with prayers for remand in connection with a case over killing two students Asaduzzaman Nur alias Surjya, 17, and Muhtasim Naim, 20.
With the four, police have so far rounded up 14 persons in connection with the case filed over the double murder.
The students were killed during the anti-discrimination-student movement in Hakimpur Thana area on August 5.
Nur's elder brother Suruj Mia filed a murder case with Hakimpur Police Station mentioning names of 23 individuals and unnamed 100 others in this connection.
Dinajpur-6 constituency lawmaker Shibly Sadik, Hakimpur Upazila Parishad Chairman, Harunur Rashid and Hakimpur Municipality mayor, Jamil Hossain were accused in the case.
