Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman said Bangladesh will have friends abroad. However, it won’t tolerate any form of dominance. If any country wants to assert dominance over Bangladesh, the nation will give them a fitting response.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a conference organized by the Brahmanbaria district Jamaat on Tuesday.
“Jamaat-e-Islami envisions a Bangladesh where every citizen will have his rights. An equal, and violence-free society will be established through social harmony,” said the Jamaat Ameer.
He further said, ”A society will be built where nobody will be harassed on the court premises. Judges will conduct judicial proceedings independently, free from corruption, guided by the law and their conscience.”
He mentioned that even though the country became independent on August 5, the previous government's syndicate is yet to be dismantled. If this syndicate continues to exist, the people will continue to suffer. The previous government tried to ban Jamaat in order to divert the mass uprising. However, Jamaat does not believe in politics that is built upon hatred. Nevertheless, those who killed religious scholars must be brought to justice.
Addressing the interim government, Shafiqur Rahman urged that no ally of the previous tyrannical regime can hold any position within the state authority. If they remain, they will make sure that the current government fails, causing the failure of the people's revolution and extinguishing the dreams of the nation.
