With the approval of the chief advisor of the interim government, an ‘anti-corruption commission reform commission’ has been formed in order to establish the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) as an effective, independent, and impartial institution through various reform proposals.
Led by the esteemed executive director of Transparency International Bangladesh, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, the Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commission includes members such as - Masud Ahmed (former Comptroller and Auditor General), Mobasher Monem (Professor in the Department of Public Administration at Dhaka University) , Mostak Khan (Professor from the University of London), Barrister Mahdin Chowdhury, Dr. Mahbubur Rahman (Professor in the Law Department at Dhaka University), Farzana Sharmin (Supreme Court lawyer), and a student representative.
The notification has stated that the commission will be active from Thursday and after considering all opinions from its members, the commission will hand over its report to the chief adviser of the interim government within the next 90 days. The government will decide the office location.
