Roads blocked amid workers protest, 52 Ashulia factories closed

Workers of a garment factory in Ashulia, Savar, blocked road on Monday demanding overdue wages, while production was halted at 52 factories in the industrial zone amid disputes between workers and owners.

Of the 52 factories, 43 factories were closed, while nine declared a general holiday.

Ashulia Police Station Inspector (OC) Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the road blockade around 10:30 am on Monday.

Earlier, around 9:30 in the morning, thousands of workers of Generation Next Garment factory blocked the road and started protesting in Narsinghpur area of ​​Tongi-Ashulia-EPZ road.
