Bangladeshi originated Rushnara Ali has won in the British general elections for the fifth time in a row. She got a total of 15, 897 votes as the candidate of Labor Party.
This time, eight British citizens of Bangladeshi origin have been nominated by the Labor Party. Rushnara Ali is one of the four who are currently serving as MPs and had been re-nominated.
Since 2010, Rushnara Ali has been continuously being elected as a candidate of the Labor Party. This politician was born in Bhurki village of Bishwanath Upazila of Sylhet of Bangladesh. She went to London with his parents as a child.
