Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina greeted the President-elect of Mexico Dr Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and expressed her willingness to work for further strengthening the existing bilateral relations with the South American country.
In a letter wrote to Pardo on Tuesday, the premier said, "On behalf of the people and the government of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I extend warm congratulations to you on your historic electoral victory to become the first-ever woman President of the United Mexican States."
"Your victory not only demonstrates your exceptional leadership qualities but also represents a significant milestone for gender equality and representation, an area where Bangladesh also takes pride in its remarkable progress," she added, according to a press release of the Prime Minister’s Press Wing.
Sheikh Hasina said she was enthusiastically looking forward to working with the President-elect to further strengthen "the enduring bonds of friendship and partnership between the two nations."
"I am confident that our collaboration will further the shared interests of Bangladesh and Mexico, benefiting our peoples," she hoped.
Commending the President-elect's prudent leadership, Sheikh Hasina said, "We anticipate the establishment of the Mexican diplomatic mission in Bangladesh, a long-awaited development that will deepen our bilateral ties."
Prime Minister wished Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo all-out success in her new role and assured her of her full cooperation to enhance the bonds of fraternity and cooperation between the two countries.
