The Meteorological Department has predicted that Kalbaishakhi storm with isolated gusty or gusty winds will blow over 8 divisions of the country. The warning has been issued for the next 72 hours (3 days) from 4 pm on Sunday.
Meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick said, “During this period, Kalbaisakhi storm with gusty winds may blow over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions separately from west/northwest direction. Along with this, there may be thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms.”
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has forecast wind gusts of up to 60 km per hour in Sylhet by Sunday evening. This information has been given in the weather forecast for the inland river ports of the country from 1:20 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday.
Meteorologist Manwar Hossain said during this period, there may be temporary stormy or gusty winds or thundershowers from west/north-west direction over Sylhet areas. The river ports in these areas have been asked to hoist warning signal number 1.
On the other hand, the latest 72-hour forecast of the Meteorological Department has predicted rain or thundershowers in several parts of the country for the next three days. Meanwhile, the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Sunday has said that during this period, there may be temporary stormy or gusty winds or rain with thunder in some places in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and in two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Barisal and Chittagong divisions. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky.
