BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has warned that the possibility of fascism's return has grown, and urged everyone to come together in response.
He said, "The associates of the autocrats are deliberately orchestrating various events. We cannot allow the sacrifices to go in vain. We must move forward through unity, without creating divisions among ourselves."
Mirza Fakhrul made these remarks in a speech at a seminar organized by the National Poetry Council at the Press Club on Thursday.
The BNP leader said, "Fascism has been defeated, but it can return at any moment. Unfortunately, today we are engaged in actions that significantly increase the possibility of it's return."
Addressing writers and poets, Mirza Fakhrul said, "I believe your responsibility has grown significantly. It is not right to say that what you couldn't do before, you cannot do now. You must provide the people with accurate information."
