In response to the ongoing intense heatwave, all primary schools across the country will remain closed until Thursday, prioritizing the health and safety of students, reports Daily Sun.
This decision encompasses government primary schools, institutions under the Child Welfare Trust, and learning centers operated by the Informal Education Bureau, as confirmed by Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
Additionally, the Ministry of Education has announced the closure of all secondary, higher secondary, and technical schools, colleges, and madrassas in 25 districts Tuesday, aligning with the heatwave precautions.
These directives come following a High Court order instructing the concerned authorities to maintain the closure of schools and colleges until Thursday. The order was issued on Monday by the HC bench comprising Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Khizir Hayat under a suo moto (voluntary) rule.
