Bashundhara Shuvosangho has distributed sewing machines among 20 underprivileged women in Natore sadar upazila, aimed at making the women self-reliant, reports Daily Sun.
The women received the machines after five months of sewing training at Swapnakali School on Saturday.
Mostafizur Rahman, president of Shuvosangho Natore District Committee, presided over the distribution ceremony, with Masudur Rahman, the additional district commissioner of Natore, as the chief guest.
Additional Police Superintendent of Natore Shariful Islam Sharif, Shuvosangho's chief advisor in Natore Rezaul Karim Reza, Senior Officer of Bashundhara Foundation Md Mamun, Bashundhara Shuvosangho's Office Secretary Sharif Mahdi Ashraf Jibon, Natore correspondents of News24 and Bangladesh Pratidin, Nachim Uddin Nachim, among others, attended the occasion.
Chief guest Masudur Rahman said, “Upon receiving sewing training and sewing machines, these poor and marginalised women will become financially independent and self-reliant.”
