The price of gold is increased by Tk1,750 to Tk1,17,573 per bhori (11.664 grams) due to a hike in the price of the precious metal on the international market.
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk10,080 per gram while it is Tk9,620 for 21-carat gold, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) on Monday, reports The Daily Sun.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk8,250 a gram, while that of traditional gold is at Tk6,875 a gram. The new tariff came into effect from Monday afternoon, the press release said.
Meanwhile, the price of silver remains the same. 22-carat silver is currently being sold at Tk180 per gram, 21-carat silver at Tk172, 18-carat silver at Tk147, and traditional silver at Tk110.
