The government offices will resume from Sunday after the vacation of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of Muslims, reports BSS.
This year, the government officials-employees got a five-day holiday at a stretch. The government extended the Eid-ul-Azha holidays by a day as it declared June 27 a holiday through an executive order.
With the holiday of June 27, the government officials-employees enjoyed a five-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha as pre-scheduled holidays were on June 28-30 and July 1 is a Saturday, a weekly holiday.
The Muslim community celebrated Eid-ul-Azha with festivity, fanfare, and religious fervor. Dhaka streets took a deserted look as people went to villages to celebrate the festival.
The people who left the capital Dhaka to celebrate the festival at their village homes with their dear and near ones have started returning to the city.
