CMP detains Obaidul Quader's relative

Police arrested a relative of former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader in Chattogram city.

AKM Siraj Ullah, brother-in-law of Obaidul's elder brother Mirza Quader, was arrested on Thursday night in the Green View Residential Area under the Bayezid Bostami police station.

Siraj Ullah, a former chairman of Norottom Union Parishad in Kabirhat Upazila, Noakhali, is also the president of the Awami League’s Norottom Union unit.

Police said Siraj, a close associate of Obaidul Quader, also the general secretary of the Awami League, is accused in five cases, including murder charges.

CMP's ADC (Public Relations), Kazi Md Tareq Aziz, stated that Siraj Ullah was arrested by law enforcement officers from Bayezid Bostami police station and would be transferred to Kabirhat police station.
