As many as 468 people were killed and 769 injured in 496 road accidents across the country in May this year.
Of the total fatalities, 78 were women and 63 children.
Road Safety Foundation came up with the statistics in a press statement on Wednesday afternoon, reports banglanews24.com.
A total of 181 people died in 185 motorcycle accidents, which accounted for 37.29 percent of the total deaths.
Some 91 pedestrians were killed while 55 drivers and their assistants were killed during this period.
In May, the highest 121 road accidents took place in Dhaka division, resulting in deaths of 110 people and injuring another 151 people.
On the other hand, the lowest 24 road accidents took place in Sylhet division resulting in deaths of 28 people and injuring 62 people, it further says.
Earlier in November, a total of 439 people died in 417 road accidents in Bangladesh.
