The sale of TCB products for one crore low-income people by family cards began across the country today (Tuesday).
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurated the TCB selling program at Tejgaon in the capital for June.
He said the TCB sale for the family cardholders will be continued until needed.
TCB started selling various daily essentials at subsidized prices among one crore family card holders nationwide to keep the prices of essential commodities stable.
Each cardholder can buy 2 litres of soybean oil, 2 kg of lentils and 1 kg of sugar at the subsidized price.
The package value of these three products is Tk 410.
Tipu Munshi said the price of soybean oil has been reduced by Tk 10 per litre in the country due to the reduction in the price of oil in the international market, the benefit of which is also being received by the TCB card holders.
The Commerce Minister said the prices of TCB products will be adjusted in the country due to the reduction in the international market.
He said the government has been trying to keep the prices of daily necessities under control.
