Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan has been honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award by Television Reporters Unity of Bangladesh (TRUB) for his outstanding contributions to the country’s economy.
He was conferred with the award at a gala programme styled ‘Global Brands-TRUB Business Award 2023’ held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Monday, reports Daily Sun.
Former president of Dhaka Club Khairul Majid Mahmud and Intraco Group Vice-Chairman Monowara Hakim Ali have also been honoured with lifetime achievement award.
Besides, some 25 individuals were given the award in different categories.
Planning Minister MA Mannan attended the award ceremony as the chief guest while Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem, former Railway Minister Mazibul Haque, Youth Bangla Global Foundation chairperson Seema Hamid and Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity (Bachsas) President Raju Alim were present as special guests.
The award ceremony was followed by a cultural show.
Noted singers, including Ankhi Alamgir, Dolly Sayantani, Dr Anima Roy, Sumi Shabnam, Tanjina Ruma, Konal and Toshiba Rahman performed at the programme.
