Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman and Deputy Leader of the Opposition GM Quader on Saturday said Bangladesh is becoming Sri Lanka without knowledge of all.
“There is no electricity in the country. The prices of daily essentials are rising every day. The prices of many commodities including sugar less in the international market than in our country. Now, the prices of daily commodities are double in Bangladesh than in Sri Lanka. Income of all people has decreased.”
GM Quader came up with the observation while addressing the central council of Jatiya Jubo Sanghati, the youth wing of Jatiya Party at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh in the capital as the chief guest.
He said, “The prices of the essential products are soaring. This is Sri Lanka. The government said it (govt) won’t fail in paying the debt. If you have not failed then why did international organization Moody's Investors Service revise the outlook on Bangladesh's banking system to negative from stable in a report? The government has given the loan burden to the people by buying goods on credit.”
Jatiya Jubo Sanghati convener and vice-chairman HM Shariar Asif presided over the council while member secretary Ahad U Chowdhury Shahin conducted the function.
Jatiya Party secretary general Mujibul Haque Chunnu, co-chairman freedom fighter ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, freedom fighter Kazi Firoz Rashid MP, Syed Abu Hossain Babla MP, presidium member and additional secretary general advocate Md Razaul Islam Bhuiyan and Liakat Hossain Khoka addressed the council.
