The High Court on Tuesday set Wednesday to pass its order on a contempt petition filed against Ideal School & College principal Faojia Rashedi and governing body chairman Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, reports BSS.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Zafar Ahmed and Justice Md Bashir Ullah passed the order after holding hearing on a writ filed in this regard.
The court earlier in the day had summoned the two for not complying with the court's order, but later the court recalled its initial order and set tomorrow to pass fresh order in this regard.
Barrister Moniruzzaman Asad moved the plea before the court, while Deputy Attorney General Nowroz Md Russel Chowdhury and Assistant Attorney General MM Sarwar Payel argued for the state.
"Petitioner Anisur Rahman got third highest votes in the polls for electing two guardian members in the governing body. Of the two, who got the maximum votes and became guardian members, Jahidul Islam Tipu was gunned down by miscreants last year. After that Rahman pleaded to include him in the governing body," Barrister Asad said.
As his plea went unsuccessful, Anisur Rahman filed a writ with the High Court. The High Court on December 11, 2022, asked the authorities concerned to include Rahman in the governing body within 30 days. But in spite of the court's order, he was not included in governing body till now.
