BNP's Rajshahi district unit convenor Abu Sayeed has been sued for threatening to kill Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a speech on May 19.
The case was filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2020, by local Awami League leader Abul Kalam Azad at Puthia police station on Sunday.
Faruk Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajshahi's Puthia Police Station confirmed the matter.
He said police are conducting operations to arrest the accused Abu Sayeed.
Earlier, a video of the BNP leader's speech went viral on Sunday.
He said there will be no 27 points or 10 points. The only demand is to send Sheikh Hasina to the grave.
The ruling Awami League has announced processions and rallies across the country in protest against the incident.
