Jashore Police Detectives on Friday claimed to have raided in an illegal arms manufacturing unit in the Rangamati garage area of the city and detained three people with wepons and firearms making equipment, reports UNB.
The arrestees have been identified as Abdul Quddus, 42, Sumon Hossain, 20, and Azizul Islam, 40, all residents of Sadar upazila.
On secret informaion, a team of the Detective Branch conducted a drive at New Bismillah Engineering Factory of the area on Thursday night and found the illegal arms making unit, said Rupon Kumar, officer-in-charge (OC) of the district DB police.
The three were detained during the drive. Five pistols, five bullets, and arms making equipment were seized from the factory, said the OC.
The detainees will be interrogated, he said.
