BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged party leaders and activists to be vigilant about infiltrators.
He said, “Everyone should be vigilant and aware so that infiltrators cannot enter the party. There may be differences of opinion within political parties. But everyone should stay in one place, votes should be held at specified times in accordance with the law and the constitution, elections should be held. Voting is the only way to create accountability.”
He said this in a statement sent to the media on Sunday.
Tarique Rahman said, “BNP Standing Committee member Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed was surprised to see some people in front of the convoy in his area. Such people have started gathering after August 5 last year.”
He said without forgetting the torture, oppression, and sacrifice of the Awami League for the past 17 years, everyone should ask themselves...Why should we allow strangers to come to BNP? Leaders and activists should be vigilant, aware so that infiltrators cannot enter the party. We should stand by the people, but not an intruder.
Stating that BNP leaders and activists have not tolerated torture for 17 years to give someone an advantage, the acting chairman of BNP said, “I humbly and respectfully request the leaders and activists not to herd the motorcycle-borne intruders into the party. Do not let them crowd, do not be confused, do not do any misleading work. If they herd them into the group, it will not be good for the party leaders and activists. Stand by the people; you have to prepare yourself as one of them.”
