Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) detained a youth from the Benapole border area with four gold bars weighing 464 grams on Tuesday.
The detainee is Imam Hossain Jibon, 24, son of Abdul Halim Munshi, hailed from Chatanikandi village under Palong Police Station of Shariatpur.
Confirming the matter, Moniruzzaman Chowdhury, deputy director of Benapole Customs Intelligence, said, acting on a tip-off, CIID detained Jibon and seized four gold bars worth Tk 32 lakh from his abdomen.
Later, the detainee was handed over to the Benapole Police Station.
