Several thousands of tourists were trapped in Sajek as road communication with the tourist spot has been closed due to a landslide at Nandoram in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati.
Witnesses said, "The landslide occurred on Tuesday due to heavy rain in the area. A team of army was working to normalise traffic on the road."
Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rumna Akhtar confirmed the matter, said, “About 2,000 tourists are waiting to exit the Sajek area while another 3,000 tourists are waiting to enter in the valley. Road cleaning work has already started. Army and locals are working to bring the situation normal for traffic.”
