Two police officers, including a Superintendent of Police (SP) and an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), have been suspended from public service following official notifications issued by the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry. The orders were signed by Nasimul Ghani, Senior Secretary of the division, on Sunday.
The suspended officers are Mohammad Nur Alam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance), who was recently promoted to SP, and Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Assistant Superintendent of Police (DSB).
According to the notification, it was deemed necessary to suspend Mohammad Noor Alam under Section 39(1) of the Public Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). During his suspension, he will remain attached to the office of the Rajshahi Range DIG and will receive subsistence allowances as per government rules.
Similarly, Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun has also been suspended under the same legal provisions. He will be attached to the office of the Rangpur Range DIG during his suspension period and will also receive subsistence allowances.
The reasons for the suspensions have not been explicitly stated in the notifications. However, such actions are typically taken in cases involving allegations of misconduct or irregularities, pending further investigation.
