Three people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a pick-up van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Sylhet-Jakiganj road in Sylhet on Saturday.
The deceased are Lutfur Rahman, 72, his wife Joly Begum, 60, both residents of Golapganj upazila, and Yunus Mia, 28, of Jakiganj upazila of the district.
Sylhet Additional Superintendent of Police Lutfur Rahman said the accident occurred around 9 am when a pick-up van crashed into a CNG-run auto near Ranaping Mina Centre under Golapganj upazila at high speed leaving one dead on the spot and wounded five others.
Two of the injured succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital, he added.
