The government has reduced the launch fare by 15 paisa per kilometre a day after reducing bus fares due to recent fuel oil prices cut.
The new fare will be effective from Thursday (September 1) night.
The Ministry of Shipping issued a notification in this regard.
Due to re-fix the launch fare in the last month, the fare up to the distance of 100 kilometres was Tk 3 per kilometre, while for the distance of more than that it was Tk 2.60. The minimum fare per passenger was Tk 33.
The new fare up to the distance of 100 kilometres now is Tk 2.85 per kilometre, while for more than 100 kilometres it is Tk 2.45.
The minimum fare per passenger has also been reduced to Tk 30.
