Two mayors get minister status, gazette published

The government has issued a gazette notification giving Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam and Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh the status of a minister while Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy and Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury the status of a state minister.

A notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam was published on Monday.

Earlier on August 8, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the new status of the four mayors.
