Dozens of pro-Palestinian activists has been arrested on Tuesday at the United States senate, repots Al Jazeera.
However, Turkish news agency Anadolu reported that the number of arrestee must be over 50.
The activists staged a protest inside the US hart senate building in solidarity with the Palestinians.
People wore T-shirts saying: “Fund climate not genocide”, “Stop Arming Israel”.
They were seen holding banners that read: “Fund Education, Not Genocide”, Fund Healthcare, Not Genocide”, Fund Jobs, Not Genocide.”
However, during the protest they called the US to stop funding Israel’s war on Gaza.
The protest came as the senate prepared to vote on ‘historic’ resolutions of disapproval of a $20bn weapons deal with Israel put forward by senator Bernie Sanders.
