Bangladesh recorded four more deaths from dengue in the past 24 hours till Sunday morning.
With this, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 214 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Besides, 660 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, taking the caseload to 42,470.
Of the deaths, two were reported from the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and one each from the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Mymensingh division.
Among the dengue patients, 207 were admitted to hospitals under the DNCC, 121 under the DSCC, and 111 in Dhaka division.
The country recorded nine deaths – the highest in a single day this year – from the viral fever in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning.
In 2023, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 321,179 dengue cases.
