Give your daily hydration a healthy twist by infusing your water with seeds. These tiny nutritional powerhouses are packed with fibre, protein, and essential antioxidants, each offering unique health benefits—from balancing hormones to supporting digestion.
Thanks to their impressive nutrient profiles, seeds are increasingly being included in everyday diets—whether in trail mixes for a quick energy boost or featured in smoothies and acai bowls. Another simple yet effective way to enjoy their benefits is by adding them to your water.
Indian nutritionist Aashna Sabharwal recently shared on Instagram five types of seed-infused water, each offering specific health advantages.
Five seed waters she shared
Coriander seed water: Improves digestion and gut health, flushes out toxins, regulates blood sugar, and enhances skin health.
Kalongi seed water: Lower cholesterol, supports heart health, boosts immunity, and reduces inflammation and joint pain.
Fennel seed water: Relieves bloating and acidity, supports hormonal balance, improves eyesight, enhances hydration and skin health.
Jeera seed water: Boosts digestion, improves immunity, and regulates blood sugar.
Methi seed water: Regulates blood sugar, aids digestion, improves hair, and skin health.
Nutrient-rich water and other bonus benefits
Other than the mentioned health benefits, soaking seeds and adding them to water takes care of two other things as well. First, it nutritionally boosts your water, which is otherwise quite shallow in nutrients. Second, by tracking your seed consumption this way, rather than just using them as a meal topper on oats or salads, your hydration requirements are also sorted. This habit is convenient for those who have a lot on their plate, as their hectic lifestyle occasionally prevents them from committing to their health goals.
