Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin today urged the Finnish businessmen and investors to invest in Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector.
Bashir made the request when a business delegation of Finland, led by Jarno Syrjälä, Under-secretary of State, met him at his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat today.
During the meeting, they discussed issues related to boosting bilateral trade and investment, said a Commerce Ministry press release.
Mentioning that an ideal environment has been created now in Bangladesh for making investment, the Commerce Adviser said that Finnish businessmen can invest in Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector, especially in solar power and wind power.
He also put emphasis on boosting engagement by the businessmen of both countries to enhance bilateral trade.
In response, the Finnish Under-Secretary of State expressed interest in investing in the renewable energy sector.
Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman was present, among others, on the occasion.
