The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in Bangladesh are set to begin tomorrow, Thursday, with 19 lakh 28 thousand students participating. The exams will run until May 13, with theoretical exams scheduled daily from 10 am to 1 pm. Practical exams will take place from May 15 to 22.
The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has recently updated the schedule, including a postponed date for the mathematics examination, which will now be held on April 21 instead of the previously announced date. The new schedule has been published to reflect these changes.
To ensure a fair and smooth examination process, the committee has issued several important instructions for candidates:
- Arrival Time: Students must be seated 30 minutes before the examination starts.
- Examination Timing: Follow the time specified on the question paper for each section.
- Order of Questions: MCQs should be answered first, followed by creative questions, with no break in between.
- Admit Card: Candidates must collect their admit cards at least three days before the exam begins.
- Continuous Assessment Marks: These must be submitted to the board through the exam center.
- OMR Forms: Candidates should fill in their roll number, registration number, and subject code accurately.
- Passing Requirement: Separate passing in creative, multiple-choice, and practical sections is mandatory.
- Registered Subjects: Students can only sit for exams in their registered subjects.
- Exam Centers: Exams will not be held in the students' own schools; there will be a system of seat shifting.
- Calculator Use: Only ordinary scientific calculators are allowed.
- Mobile Phones: Only the center secretary can bring a mobile phone; no other mobile phones are permitted in the exam halls.
- Attendance: All three exam parts—creative, MCQ, and practical—must be recorded on the same attendance sheet.
- Practical Exams: These will be held at the respective exam centers.
- Revaluation: Students can apply for revaluation within 7 days after the results are declared.
With these instructions in place, authorities are aiming to ensure the SSC exams are conducted in a disciplined and efficient manner, giving students the opportunity to perform their best in a fair environment.
