The exports of Bangladeshi garment products to the European Union (EU) saw a significant increase of 34 percent in October compared to the same month last year, according to data from the European statistics agency.
This growth highlights the continued strong demand for Bangladesh's apparel in the EU market, reports UNB.

According to Eurostat, the demand for textile and garment imports in the European Union increased in October. Bangladesh has taken the most advantage of the increased demand from these countries.
Bangladesh has the fastest growth in garment exports to the EU countries. Among Bangladesh's competing countries, Vietnam, India, Pakistan and China have about 20 to 23 percent growth rates.
China leads the EU's garment imports with a one-third share, followed by Turkey at 13.1 percent, and Bangladesh in third place with an 11.4 percent share.
Bangladesh's garment exports to the European Union in October increased significantly by 33.78 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. This is the strongest growth recorded in the first 10 months of this year.
According to data released by the Eurostat, the EU imported $1.82 billion worth of garments from Bangladesh in October 2024; up from $1.36 billion in the same month in 2023.
