The expatriates sent remittances worth $2.2 billion in November this year.
The Remittances inflow increased by more than 12 percent compared to a year ago. In November last year, expatriates sent $1.93 billion.
This information was known from the updated report of Bangladesh Bank published on Sunday.
According to the report, expatriates sent $820 million through state-owned banks, $140 million through the specialized Bangladesh Krishi Bank, $1.22 billion through private commercial banks and $6.2 million through foreign banks.
According to the report, expatriate income in October of the current 2024-25 fiscal year was $2.3 billion. Accordingly, remittances decreased by more than 4 percent in November. However, expatriates sent the most $2.4 billion in September of this fiscal year. They sent $1.91 billion in July and $2.22 billion in August.
