Gold price in Bangladesh market increased to Tk 1,00,776 per bhori as the jewelers raised the price by Tk 2,332.
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting on Thursday.
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk 8,640 per gram while it is Tk 8,250 for 21-carat, said a press release signed by Committee chairman MA Hannan Azad.
The price of 18-carat gold was fixed at Tk 7,070 a gram while that of traditional gold was set at Tk 5,890 a gram.
The new tariffs will come into effect today (Friday), BAJUS said.
The price of 22-carat silver was set at Tk 147 per gram and 21-carat silver at Tk 140. The price of 18-carat silver was fixed at Tk 120 per gram and for the traditional one, the price would be Tk 90.
