Police have arrested three people in connection with the snatching of two auto-rickshaws after killing the drivers in Dhaka’s Gendaria area in September and October, reports UNB.
The arrestees were Jalal Sardar alias Michael, 21, Fazle Rabbi alias Kala, 25 and Md Imran, 30.
During the investigation into the two different incidents, police with the help of technology came to know that one gang was involved in the crimes, said Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (DC-media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Police arrested Jalal from Pirojpur's Mathbaria upazila on October 24 and following his confessional statement police arrested Imran on October 25 for purchasing the auto-rickshaw.
Police also arrested Fazle Rabbi from the Gendaria area early Saturday.
Jinnah, 60, a rickshaw puller, was killed near Gendaria graveyard on September 21 and on October 15, Anwar, 40, another auto-rickshaw puller was killed when a group of miscreants hit him with a sharp weapon in a bid to snatch his auto-rickshaw at Dinanath Sen Road near Kochikacha alley in Gendaria.
