Police detained 44 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (June 8).
Police arrested them from 6:00 am Wednesday to Thursday morning with drugs as part of their regular drive.
A total of 784 pieces of yaba, 118 grams of heroin, 62 bottles of phensidyle, and 26 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.
Thirty-five cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
