Bangladesh will kick off their ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2025 campaign against Thailand on April 10 at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground.
The tournament, running from April 9 to 19 in Lahore, will see six teams competing for two remaining spots in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup later this year in India.
Bangladesh, alongside Ireland, Pakistan, and the West Indies, qualified for the tournament after finishing between seventh and tenth place in the ICC Women’s Championship (2022-25). They will be joined by Scotland and Thailand, the next two highest-ranked teams as of October 28, 2024, in a 15-match league format.
Following their opener against Thailand, Bangladesh will face Ireland in a crucial day-night fixture at the Gaddafi Stadium on April 13. They will then take on Scotland under lights on April 15, followed by a high-stakes clash against the West Indies on April 17.
Their final league match will be against hosts Pakistan on April 19, which could be a decisive encounter in the race for qualification.
The 10-day event will be held across two venues—the Gaddafi Stadium and the LCCA Ground—with Bangladesh looking to secure their place in the global tournament for the second consecutive time.
ICC CEO Geoff Allardice expressed excitement about the tournament, stating: “The six competing teams are just one step away from the Women’s Cricket World Cup, and I am sure they will all be eagerly looking forward to the competition.”
The top two teams from the qualifier will book their spots in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, joining hosts India, along with Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, who have already secured direct qualification.
