Bangladesh national football team head coach Javier Cabrera is hoping for another practice match during their conditioning camp in Saudi Arabia.
Bangladesh played Al Wehdat, a club of Jordan, in a closed door practice match on Thursday (March 13) and it was learnt that the men in red and green had a positive result in the match.
“We had a match, yes. Before that, we had a one-hour training session. Throughout the day, we engaged in various activities, including meetings and gym sessions. Later, we went to the beach for another hour of training before playing the practice game against Al Wehdat,” Cabrera said after the match on Thursday.
Cabrera described the match as good practice for the players and an opportunity to implement what they have been working on over the past eight days in Saudi Arabia.
“It’s been valuable practice. We shared game time among most of the players, giving each 45 minutes. It was a good opportunity to apply what we’ve worked on in training,” he added.
The Spanish coach remains focused on preparation and hopes for another match before the camp ends.
“We will continue with our preparations and hopefully play one more match while we are here in Saudi,” he said.
The team will continue their conditioning camp in Taif until March 17.
Bangladesh’s third-round AFC Asian Cup qualifier against India will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong. The other teams in Bangladesh’s group are Singapore and Hong Kong.
