Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has inaugurated a project at Cox's Bazar Airport and visited the Khurushkul Climate Refugee Center.
The Chief Advisor, who arrived in Cox's Bazar on Friday afternoon, visited two sites of the under-construction international airport. He was briefed about the progress of the work there and the latest situation. A summary in this regard was presented by the Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh (CAAB).
CAAB said that 95 percent of the construction work of the international airport has been completed. The remaining work is expected to be completed by December this year. The Chief Advisor was informed that 40 to 50 aircraft will take off and land from this airport every day once the international airport is operational.
Later, the CA will join Rohingya refugees including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for an iftar. After the visit and iftar, Dr Yunus and the UN Secretary-General are scheduled to return to Dhaka together at night.
