Bangladesh will take on defending champions India in their Pool A match on the opening day of the 6th Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025 at Pardis in Tehran, Iran today (March 6) at 3:30 pm (BST).
The continental tournament for women is taking place for the first time since 2017 with the participation of seven teams -- defending champions India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Iraq, Nepal, Thailand and hosts Iran.
Bangladesh are in Pool A along with India, Malaysia and Thailand while Pool B comprises Nepal, Iraq and the hosts.
Bangladesh will also play their second match today against Malaysia at 7:30 pm (BST) and their third and last match against Thailand on Friday (March 7) at 2:30 pm (BST).
The top two teams from each Pool will play semifinals on March 7 while the final will be held on March 8.
Bangladesh women’s team, who earned bronze in the first edition of this tournament in 2005, are expecting to achieve the same feat in this ongoing tournament.
